A learn to skate program for skaters aged 3 to 5 years with limited or no previous skating experience, with focus on balance, introduction of basic skills, and making skating fun through the use of games, toys, activities and music. Available in either Fall (8 weeks) or Winter Sessions (10 weeks).
Designed for skaters 5 years or older to focus on development of fundamental movements organized in levels. Skills are arranged in progressions and badges awarded. Sessions use teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities.
Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition! STARSkate offers opportunities to develop fundamental skating skills in the areas of dance and free skate. Group lesson format with a certified professional coach.
SYNCHROSkate is a team sport of 8 - 16 skaters. It is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow. Skate Canada's SYNCHROSkate program includes a number of Synchronized Skating categories which accommodate skaters at any age and skill level. This program requires 8 or more skaters.
When you sign up for a skating program you become a member of Skate Canada. Your Skate Canada membership fee includes access to all Skate Canada programs and also provides insurance coverage.
